Sauwer Jones  Law Firm

Our Vision

Sauwer Jones Lawfirm considers it important to do its bit when it comes to social commitment and sustainability. Since 2020, a special committee has been set up for this purpose. In varying composition, they meet every other month on various topics, partly based on input from office colleagues.

It is about engagement in the broadest sense of the word. For instance, two vegetarian days a week have been instituted, an insect hive has been installed and anonymous job applications are now being submitted. Sauwer Jones Lawfirm is also involved in an active sense. It co-initiates the ‘Lawyer at School’ project and our office mates do volunteer work. Financial contributions are also made annually to (small-scale) charities nominated by office colleagues, most recently, for example, Stichting Abhilasa Global Serve and the Alzheimer Café Scheveningen. Furthermore, law students regularly participate in lectures or advocacy exercises at our office.

Mr. Jones Sauwer

Partner specialised in WHOA lawyers

Jones Sauwer is one of the most experienced and specialised WHOA lawyers in the Netherlands.

Jones Sauwer has extensive experience as a receiver in bankruptcies and administrator in moratoriums. He has built a reputation as a skilled receiver, with excellent business acumen, an understanding of figures and an eye for the interests of all parties involved. In addition, Jones Sauwer is a skilled and sharp litigator.

With his knowledge and experience, Jones Sauwer helps companies to restructure, in particular through the Homologation Private Agreement Act (WHOA). Through this procedure, he concludes an agreement with creditors on behalf of his client. He has the agreement ratified by the court in order to bind creditors who have not agreed to that agreement as well. In this way, Jones Sauwer prevents companies from going bankrupt unnecessarily. Jones Sauwer is the first lawyer in the Netherlands to successfully complete a WHOA procedure. Since then, he has been involved in 15 WHOA proceedings, as a lawyer of the entrepreneur, shareholder or creditor, and as an expert appointed by the court.
